SHAYE BODDINGTON - Artist, Web site & Graphic Designer

Shaye has been painting since she was a little girl and was old enough to put paint on her hands to paint the walls! She also enjoyed ‘touching up’ her mum (Sheila's) paintings whenever they weren't looking to good!

Shaye followed in the footsteps of her older sister, Lara and also did the 3 year degree - Bachelor of Design. She finished off her degree at the end of 2007 with a fantastic result for her final exhibition titled ‘Beyond the Green’. Shaye’s aims for the future are to set up a successful Graphic Design studio and Art Gallery. She also hopes to one day open up a resort in Fiji.

Shaye says that her inspiration comes from all the wonderful people, places and experiences that she has been lucky enough to experience in her life so far.

SHEILA BODDINGTON - Artist

Sheila has been selling her work for over 20 years. She majored in Art at teachers college and attended Harare School of Art for three years. Before immigrating to New Zealand, Sheila gave art lessons to groups of all ages ranging from early childhood to adult workshops. She was beginning to make name for herself as an artist after holding three extremely successful solo exhibitions.

Since arriving in New Zealand 7 years ago, Sheila has been teaching art at a West Auckland secondary school. She recently completed another degree to add to her list of achievements! Since the completion of her degree, Sheila has set aside time to focus on painting. Her works are always very popular as she never accepts ‘just okay’ when it comes to her artwork.

Sheila is the mother of Lara, Shaye & Ashleigh - All of whom are artists and designers. She can be thanked for passing the talent through the family.

LARA BODDINGTON - Artist, Illustrator, Designer and Photographer

Lara has been painting since she was five years old. Her first paintings still hang in the family home. This hobby has gradually developed into a passion and she now paints on a more regular basis.

Having completed a Bachelor of Design at AUT she went on to do a graduate diploma in Teaching at Auckland University. She hopes to spread her love of Art & Design to many young up and coming artists of the future.

Lara loves the outdoors and plays hockey at Premier level - She has a perfectionist nature, perhaps explaining her eye for detail, which captures the intricacy of the subject matter she paints. Lara also enjoys experimenting with subject matter, media and colour, all of which create a diverse range of artworks.

Keep an eye on Lara’s work. Her pieces always sell quickly as they are truly beautiful.

TOM WILSON - Artist and Web site Specialist

Tom, unlike the rest of Artsquad, has only been painting for 3-4 years. His exceptional talent, perseverance and determination have seen him improve rapidly. Tom now produces artwork of an exceptional quality.

Tom is not only an artist, but a talented web designer and engineer and martial artist as well! Tom believes that anybody has the ability to do anything they want in life, just so long as they put their mind to it.

Tom's inspiration comes mainly from the Waitakere ranges, where he lives. He loves to paint Kiwi themed art and in particular native bush and bird-life. Tom aims to push his standard up with every new piece of art that he creates. Tom Wilson is definitely a name to keep an eye out for in the future!

Tom’s works are always vibrant and organic, reflecting his love of Native New Zealand.
